I am inspired to do this work in memory of my father, Willie Blake Landrum, who's life's mission was to ensure all youth were prepared to excel in a career of their choice. As an educator in LAUSD for more than 20 years, he worked at Abram Freidman Occupational Skill Center and Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center to help prepare students to get on-the-job experience, work with industry professionals, acquire entry level employment, understand career advancement, and attain industry certification. I am honored to continue his legacy with the Building Bridges Workshops!
The workshops are interactive, collaborative and reflective which are designed to provide teens and young adults with strategies for successful employment and career preparation. Participants will leave inspired and empowered, but also fully armed with tools that will prepare them for the workforce.
After the 4-week/16 week program, participants receive a certificate of completion to add to their resumes or credentials.
